Our Company History

OCG Companies has been in business since 1998. As a leader in the utility restoration industry, we knew we could expand our service offering to a wider market since the industry requires expertise in such a wide variety of trades.

Our professional crews have years of hands-on experience with a wide scale of facilities, from manufacturing plants and factories to hospitals, chain and flagship stores, and distribution sites. We’ve worked on thousands of projects over the course of our two decades in the business, building an impressive list of satisfied clients. Some of our notable clients include DTE, Consumers Energy, Axon Properties, Shelving Inc., Ideal Shield, Candid Farms and Amazon.

OCG Industrial Services is fully OSHA compliant, with written prevention plans that are reviewed and revised every year. We also keep proper OSHA safety logs, and provide our employees with a written drug policy to maintain a drug-free workplace.

Safety is our first priority at every job. To ensure this, we hold on-site daily safety checks and bi-weekly tailgate safety meetings to make sure that all policies and procedures are being followed, and to discuss any potential areas of concern so that we can get ahead of any problems.

Joe Gordhamer

Joe joined the team as President of OCG Companies in February 2020. After graduating from BYU, he earned his MBA in Strategy and Marketing at the University of Michigan. Joe has over 20 years of global experience building

businesses and leading successful teams.

Director of Operations

Tony Muer

Tony has over 20 years of experience in Construction Management & Estimating in the Automotive, Civil, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, University and cast-in-place structural concrete. Tony graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree

in Construction Management.

Director of Finance

John Koch

John has over 20 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. He has worked with a variety of companies including Big 4 accounting, multi-billion dollar global hospitality and private

equity-owned growth companies.

Project Manager - Construction Division

Nick Hendrick

Nick started his career at North American Dismantling at 13, contributing to major demolition projects. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Construction Management, Nick swiftly climbed Pulte Homes' ranks, becoming the highest-rated Superintendent in Michigan and top 70 nationally.

Project Manager - Fencing Division

Phil Brockway

Phil has seven years of experience in industrial and commercial fencing. Prior to his career in fencing, Phil spent eight years in the U.S. Army. His diverse background extends to various roles in the construction field, from foundations to carpentry.

The New Foster Care's mission is to make a transformative change in the Michigan foster care system and a measurable and meaningful impact in the lives of children who have experienced foster care. The ownership of OCG funds The New Foster Care's efforts.

The Autism Alliance of Michigan leads
efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan.

The Compassion Project is a child-advocacy ministry pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release the children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty.

Angel House's mission is to bring abandoned children to safety and into the loving arms of caretakers that will educate, love and raise them. Each year, OCG funds an orphanage or rescue home.

The Small Business Association of Michigan is the only statewide and state-based association that focuses solely on serving the needs of Michigan’s small business community.
